I'm supposed to be working. As usual, that translates to "I'm working on some long-neglected fandom task instead!" This time, checking FF.net stats (one of my stories, to my dismay, seems to have been nominated for some kind of award or other... meaning it's being discussed on some forum that's not full of my usual readers, meaning I'm getting readers and reviewers who are diving in just for that fic and checking nothing else. One of them helpfully left an insanely long review that suggested, among other things, that I must have avoided dialog in that fic because it's not my strength. I wouldn't necessarily say my dialog is stellar but HALF MY FICS ARE NOTHING BUT TALKING WTF PEOPLE.)

It's interesting how many people will add a story as a favorite (or you as a favorite) without reviewing.

Anyway. New chapter for Good Enough. Nearing the end, finally. This thing has followed me through my last semester or so of college, four homes in two states, three jobs, and back into school. I may add some short fics or drabble collections later if I'm still procrastinating. Oh GOD how many words can people WRITE about "relevance"? I'm going to die!

Doesn't look like I ever posted my last 30_kisses update, so... two for the price of one. On the Road and Shopping, both part of the post-AC fic. Which is a disaster of changing tenses and POV if you take it as a whole, but less so if you read it as individual entries months apart.

Fiction, new 30_fantasies fic. Set many decades post-game and using one of two potential readings of the theme I thought of. One reading was in the sense of the fantasy genre, the standard FF plot, etc. The other was "the final fantasy, in contrast to reality." I ended up writing fics for both interpretations; the other one doesn't really work for any of the challenge themes, and I'm not terribly happy with it, but I might as well post it here, since I've had such complete silence here otherwise. The bit about Setzer was tied to a line in the GBA re-translation - a lot was cut from that hidden scene at the Blackjack in the original.

Working on a 30_fantasies Terra fic, but it's giving me grief.

Background, Rude/Tifa for 30_kisses, part of the post-AC story I didn't exactly want to get caught up in writing. The story was expedited by wanting to keep my claim alive, but I've been meaning to write it for a while...

Employment Opportunities, Rude/Tifa for 30_kisses. Sort of a sequel to "Human Touch," though I don't think you have to have read that to make sense of the fic; and I would recommend you not read it, because it's old and it embarrasses me. But I link it anyway...

Dang, time flies when you have a shiny new hopeless addiction. These two are meant to make sure I don't get dropped from my two most productive claims.

Betrayal, Terra for 30_fantasies, set at the end of the Thamasa arc.

Departure, Rude/Tifa for 30_kisses, continuing the post-Advent Children story arc that is likely the only thing I'll ever write that will acknowledge AC even exists. The others are linked in the community post.

Now, I must go inject World of Warcraft directly into my veins.

I finally kicked myself into gear for 30_gens - my first Celes fic for that challenge set, Uncharted, is posted there. Another WoR piece.

Also, as you may have noticed, I've been fiddling with the layout.

Sorry about the long silence here (not like it's been much better on my personal LJ.) After the move - which I barely mentioned here, but which ate my life for a while, as packing up your whole life, which includes one neurotic cat prone to wetting himself when frightened, will tend to do, even when you're not driving halfway across the US afterwards with the cat trying to headbutt the gearshift - I spent a while being completely unproductive, then got a job. Said job involves a lot of stupid office politics and interpersonal drama, so it stresses me out, and I just come home and immerse myself in either the Sims 2, or World of Warcraft, depending on my mood at the time and whether my boyfriend's level 60 priest is signed up for yet another 40-man raid.

But I do have some writing done, and it needs to be posted, sooo...

Weakness, Terra for 30_fantasies, gen set in Mobliz during the lost year in the WoR before Celes wakes up.

Pretext, Rude/Tifa for 30_kisses, which sets up the plot, such as it is - okay, sets up the premise - for a longer fic. Post-Advent Children, no ties to any Advent Children-continuity items that are not the movie itself. I don't even have any knowledge of the plot of Dirge of Cerberus, let alone anything else. Nor do I really want any. I don't even want to treat Advent Children as canon - as far as I'm concerned, the fandom needs fewer crazy silver-haired bishies, not more of them.

And the Locke x Terra site has been updated with new art. One piece recently, by th3newblack, and two back at the end of June, by Celestial Terra. I need to rotate out the doujin section, but I have yet to hook up my scanner, and I really do like the one I have up.
